1. Who these terms are between
You, as the customer, and STEPS FOOTSOCKS B.V., trading as Lowline, registered in the Netherlands under KvK number 18033976.
Read the detailHide the detail
Registered office: Oranjestraat 47, 5091 BK Middelbeers, Netherlands. VAT identification number: not yet issued. Full statutory details are on the legal information page.
These terms apply to every offer on stepsfootsocks.quest and to every contract formed through it. Where you are a consumer, nothing here limits your mandatory statutory rights.
2. What we sell
Low-cut socks, described by measurement rather than by adjective.
Read the detailHide the detail
Every item is a sock with a cuff below the ankle bone. Each one is published with its cuff height in millimetres, the highest shoe opening it belongs under, its hold mechanism and dimensions, its fibre composition under the legal fibre names, and whether it is delivered sealed.
We do not sell mid-calf or higher socks, hosiery, compression garments, medical products or protective equipment, and we make no medical, protective, antibacterial or environmental claims about anything on this site.
3. Prices and currency
All prices are in US Dollars (USD) and include Dutch VAT at 21% where it applies.
Read the detailHide the detail
All prices on this site are in US Dollars (USD). The currency is stated in full next to every price, in the basket and again at checkout, so there is no ambiguity about which dollar is meant.
Prices exclude shipping unless the order qualifies for free standard shipping. Shipping is calculated by destination zone and shown before you are asked to pay.
For deliveries outside the European Union, import duty and local taxes may be charged on arrival. These are set by the destination country, are not collected by us, and are payable by the recipient.
Where a struck-through reference price is shown, that reference is the lowest price we applied to that item in the previous 30 days. If a discount does not satisfy that test, we show no reference price at all rather than an inflated one.
4. Promotions and discount codes
One first-order code, LOWLINE10, worth 10% off the item subtotal. Free standard shipping from USD 45.
Read the detailHide the detail
Valid once per customer on a first order. Applies to the item subtotal before shipping. Cannot be combined with another code. We can withdraw the code at any time; orders already placed are not affected.
Free standard shipping applies automatically to orders with an item subtotal of USD 45 or more, before any discount code is applied. It covers the standard service only; tracked services remain chargeable.
There is no subscription, no membership tier, no loyalty scheme, no stored credit and no recurring delivery. Every purchase is a single one-off transaction and nothing renews.
5. How a contract is formed
Your order is an offer; the contract exists when we send the order confirmation.
Read the detailHide the detail
Adding items to a basket does not reserve them. When you complete checkout you make an offer to buy. The contract comes into being when we send you an order confirmation by email.
If an item is out of stock, mispriced through an obvious error, or the order looks fraudulent, we may decline the offer. If we do so after payment has been taken we refund it in full without deduction.
The order confirmation email repeats the statutory information, the withdrawal notice and the model withdrawal form, so that you hold them on a durable medium and not only as a page on this website.
6. Payment and payment security
Payment happens on an encrypted page operated by a PCI-DSS compliant processor. We never see or store your card number.
Read the detailHide the detail
This site is served over HTTPS. Card details are entered on an encrypted payment page operated by a payment services provider that is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Those details are not transmitted to our servers, are not logged by us and are not stored by us at any point.
Card schemes accepted: Visa, Mastercard, American Express. The accepted schemes are shown again at checkout before you are asked to pay.
We may decline or reverse a transaction where we have reasonable grounds to suspect card testing or fraudulent use. Where we do, the cardholder is not charged.
7. Delivery
Dispatch within two working days; delivery windows depend on the destination zone.
Read the detailHide the detail
Orders placed on a working day before 14:00 CET are normally dispatched the next working day. Delivery times by zone, the carriers used and the rates charged are published in full on shipping and returns.
Delivery windows are estimates given in good faith, not guaranteed dates. If we have not delivered within 30 days of the contract you may set a reasonable additional period; if we miss that too, you may cancel and we refund everything you have paid.
Risk of loss or damage passes to you when the goods are handed to you or to a carrier you appointed yourself. Where we appoint the carrier, risk stays with us until delivery.
8. Right of withdrawal
14 days from receipt, without giving a reason. Sealed items are the exception once the seal is opened.
Read the detailHide the detail
The full notice, the exceptions and the model withdrawal form are set out on the withdrawal page. In summary: you have 14 days from the day after you receive the goods to tell us you are withdrawing, and a further 14 days to send them back.
Items delivered sealed for reasons of hygiene cannot be returned once the seal has been opened. Which items those are is stated on the product page, in the basket and again at checkout, before you pay. Unopened, the right of withdrawal applies to them in full.
9. Conformity
Goods must match their description and do what you can reasonably expect. We do not attach a fixed number of years to that.
Read the detailHide the detail
Your legal rights under Dutch law are not limited to a fixed number of years. How long a product must last depends on what you can reasonably expect from it. Any commercial guarantee we offer is in addition to those rights, never instead of them.
What counts as a fault here, and what counts as ordinary wear, is set out with worked examples on conformity and guarantee. The short version: a stated measurement that turns out to be wrong is a fault; silicone gradually losing grip over the life of the sock is wear.
10. What we do not promise
No sock stays up in every shoe on every foot. Cuff height, heel shape, how the shoe fits and how you walk all matter. We give you the measurements so you can compare them to your own shoes.
Nothing on this site should be read as a warranty that a sock will remain in position. Our product statements are limited to measurable structural facts: cuff height, hold mechanism, band width, fibre composition and the shoe opening a cuff belongs under. Whether a sock stays where it is put depends on your shoes, your feet and your gait, which we cannot observe and do not claim to control.
11. Availability, legal and export restrictions
We ship to the destinations listed on the shipping page and to nowhere else.
Read the detailHide the detail
Socks are ordinary consumer textiles and are not subject to export licensing in the Netherlands. We do not ship to destinations subject to European Union or Dutch sanctions, to embargoed territories, or to addresses we cannot lawfully serve, and we may cancel and refund an order that turns out to be for such a destination.
You are responsible for the lawfulness of importing the goods into your own country and for any duty or tax charged there.
This site is not intended for children. Purchases may not be made by anyone under 13. Customers aged 13 to 17 may buy only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who is then party to the contract.
12. Liability
We are liable for what the law makes us liable for, and we do not try to sign that away.
Read the detailHide the detail
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability under the product liability rules and a consumer’s statutory conformity rights.
Beyond that, our liability for any single order is limited to the amount paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
13. Intellectual property
The text, photographs and diagrams on this site are ours. The shoes shown are unbranded.
Read the detailHide the detail
All content on stepsfootsocks.quest belongs to STEPS FOOTSOCKS B.V. unless stated otherwise, and may not be reproduced commercially without written permission.
We do not use, imitate or refer to any footwear manufacturer’s name, logo or signature silhouette anywhere on this site. Shoes shown in photographs are plain and unbranded, and the shoe-type table describes generic categories rather than any particular model.
14. Complaints
Write to us first. We answer within five working days and try to settle it there.
Read the detailHide the detail
Send complaints to support@stepsfootsocks.quest with your order reference. We acknowledge within two working days and give a substantive answer within five.
If we cannot agree, Dutch consumers can seek information and assistance from the Autoriteit Consument & Markt through ACM ConsuWijzer. You always keep the right to bring the matter before the competent Dutch court.
15. Governing law
Dutch law, and nothing in these terms takes away the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer rules.
Read the detailHide the detail
These terms and any contract formed under them are governed by the law of the Netherlands. Where you are a consumer habitually resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of that country.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
